With that data, UsNews ranked the best car companies of 2023 and we will post it here to help you find the best one.

What Is the Best Car Insurance Company?

According to the data, the auto insurance company that is considered the best, is USAA, however, their insurance products are only available to members of the military community. However, if this does not apply to you, the second best option is State Farm.

Now, to define the best auto insurance companies, we have analyzed the rate data, also with policyholder feedback, with attention directed at customer service, claims handling, policy renewal, and customer loyalty. Also, survey participants were asked how likely they were to recommend their car insurance company to another driver looking for a new policy.

1. USAA 

Considered the top-ranked insurance company, according to the surveys, USAA customers report the highest level of customer satisfaction, and they are the most likely to renew their policies and recommend USAA to other drivers. The insurer also reports the lowest rates in the study, beating the national average by 35%.

However, USAA’s insurance products, along with auto, renters, and homeowners policies, are only available to members of the military community. As such, not all drivers are eligible for coverage through the insurer

2. State Farm

Second place goes to State Farm, where in the ranking it has above average scores in each of the sub-branches, including Customer Loyalty and Claims Handling. It also did very well in the ranking of Cheapest Car Insurance Companies for the year 2023

3. Farmers

Third place goes to Farmers, where it is in one of the top rankings of the sub-branches. It has ties to be first place for Claims Management and second place for Customer Service and Customer Loyalty. However, the insurer loses points in comparison when it comes time to renew. It also has one of the most expensive average annual fees of the companies.

4. Nationwide

Nationwide moved up two spots since our 2021 analysis, tying for the No. 4 spot. Nationwide has the second-highest scores in our Customer Loyalty and Most Likely to be Recommended subratings and above-average scores in each of the other subrating categories. Nationwide also has below-average rates for some drivers, especially those with a good driving record or poor credit.

5. Geico

Geico is tied for the five spot in our rating of the Best Car Insurance Companies of 2023, with average scores across a range of categories, such as Claims Handling, Customer Service and Customer Loyalty. It also ranks second on our list of Cheapest Car Insurance Companies of 2023, with some of the most affordable average rates for teen and senior drivers, and those with poor credit.

What Is the Best Car Insurance Company?

According to the customer survey data, USAA was named the best company, however, the products are only available to active military members or veterans and their families.
